Remote Workforce Housing

Manufactured for work-life balance

  • GLNG Remote Workforce Accommodation

The Bechtel Australia GLNG Accommodation Project included a total of 425 double-storey accommodation buildings, housing more than 1,700 personnel, and numerous administration and recreational buildings. All buildings were designed, manufactured, and installed by ATCO Structures to facilitate the GLNG remote workforce on Curtis Island in Queensland.

Administration buildings provided in the scope included a commercial kitchen, a large office complex, and workforce training centres. All buildings, footings, and awnings were designed and installed to meet C3 Wind Codes, BCA codes, and QDC codes.

Recreational facilities provided in the scope included a swimming pool, tennis court, beach volleyball court, three gymnasiums, a tavern, and a multipurpose building providing ample on-site recreational options for project personnel during their downtime.

Full turnkey delivery of the project including detailed earthworks, inground service reticulations, and telecommunications took place concurrently with the QCLNG and APLNG projects over three years. The project was successfully delivered with all project handover dates met on time and within budget.
