Modular buildings

Architecturally inspired for Agriculture learning

  • Saint Ignatius College Riverview Agricultural Learning Precinct

The Saint Ignatius College Riverview Agricultural Learning Precinct included two architecturally inspired modular buildings to facilitate the addition of tech-driven Greenhouse Management skills to the school's curriculum.

The state-of-the-art modular buildings will house junior/senior classrooms and lab facilities with fully integrated HVAC systems, and a greenhouse with automated louvre windows and a thermostatically controlled exhaust system.

The HVAC system is a fully integrated, multi-head cassette system installed on-site in each building. Coloured FC external cladding provides architectural features that ensure seamless blending with existing infrastructure.

ATCO collaborated with the school's civil company, service contractors, and local traffic management to plan delivery, prepare the site, and install the buildings amongst existing infrastructure. Extensive coordination also occurred to ensure correct and adequate draw wire provisions for installing security, AV, fire, and comms/data services after the modules were installed.

The installation site was prepared concurrently with the off-site manufacture of building modules reducing construction time and impact on school grounds, existing infrastructure, and vegetation. Installation of the modular buildings took place over two days within budget and on time without incident regardless of tight road access and uneven terrain challenges.
