Dromana Secondary College Senior Learning & Interaction Hub
As part of the Permanent Modular School Buildings Program, the Victorian School Building Authority worked with ATCO Structures to design and construct a modern learning and interaction hub for senior students at Dromana Secondary College.
The 660 m² modular building was installed as an extension to an existing classroom block, replacing an older building that contained asbestos.
The extension housed six open-planned classrooms connected via a central interaction hub with locker facilities, an open-planned kitchenette, and a breakout space for students and staff.
Interaction, communication, and technology were key factors in the design phase of the project, resulting in a state-of-the-art learning space facilitating Zoom calls between the students here and their sister school in China while providing a comfortable space to interact with teachers and peers.
ATCO Structures provided architectural design, permits, civil and fire certification, full turnkey installation, external construction, and all service reticulations and connections.
