ATCO Structures worked with Trinity Grammar School to install 12 temporary classrooms and student/staff amenities to decant students and staff during the first stage of their capital works and school refurbishment project.
Over three days during the school term, two large cranes were used to transport and install classroom modules onto foundations within the school grounds on the roof of the newly constructed underground carpark. The dual crane process was adopted to lift and transport the modules across the school cricket oval with as little damage as possible.
The project required extensive planning and council liaison for permits, traffic control, and parking management to ensure the safety of all staff, students, and neighbouring citizens.
ATCO Structures will return in late 2024 to install a further 23 classrooms and four toilet blocks as part of the second stage of the school capital works and school refurbishment project.
This project is a great example of how schools can utilise ATCO Structures temporary classrooms in assisting to decant staff and students during construction to avoid disruptions or safety issues.
ATCO Structures temporary classrooms are available for rent or hire contact your local ATCO Structures sales office to learn how your school can benefit from modular construction.
