Functional learning spaces with limited student disruption

  • Mount Ommaney Special School

The Mount Ommaney Special School project showcases ATCO Structures ability to provide earthworks and installation of a functional learning space within the constraints of existing school infrastructure and with limited distruption to the school’s daily function.

The project site required excavation and construction of a 30 m retaining wall to facilitate the foundations of the new facilities. All work took place during the school term with high-noise or disruptive activities scheduled for weekends or off-peak times. Temporary barriers and clear signage were utilised to separate construction zones and minimise the impact on the school community.

The project was completed on time, within budget, and without any significant safety incidents demonstrating expertise in flexible project management, effective stakeholder coordination, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
