ATCO was engaged by Lendlease to design, manufacture, and install a modular childcare facility in support of a key community priority within La Perouse, NSW. The project aimed to provide contemporary learning environments and recreational spaces at Gujaga Childcare Services, while providing an additional 30 spaces to expand the existing centre.

Driven by the need to reduce early childhood education wait lists and ensure more children have access to high-quality education in a physically and culturally supportive setting, the modular childcare facility features DDA-compliant access ramps, landings, and stairs; open plan learning areas that can be sectioned off as needed; and large windows for a light-filled interior.

ATCO’s turnkey service included traffic and road closure management; application for permits; parking prevention measures; and local council liaison. Regardless of multiple overhead wires and traffic control challenges, the installation was successful, with the building being ready for occupation one week before the beginning of term one.
